Coming Up! Southeast Alaska Intergroup Board (SAIG) Elections!

It’s that time of year to have elections for the Southeast Alaska OA Intergroup board positions. Intergroup is a fun and interesting opportunity to expand your recovery!!

Carrying the message to the still suffering compulsive overeater is the primary purpose of the SAIG Board.  Intergroup is an opportunity to be of service and Service is one of the Tools!!

Below are the open positions with a description of duties and time commitment. The phone numbers of current officers are included if you have questions. 

There are 3 ways to express interest to serve:

1. Call one of the board members

3. Attend the election meeting Saturday, May 11th, 10:45 am

Intergroup Chair

• Create monthly business meeting agenda collecting and distributing any items for review such as treasurers report and draft minutes from last meeting
• Lead monthly intergroup meetings
• Region 1 liaison - distributing pertinent information to board members regarding available grants, business assemblies, and Public Information Public Outreach (PIPO) resources
• Oversee quarterly projects such as speaker meetings and workshops
• Monthly time commitment 2-3 hours

Intergroup Vice Chair

• Attend monthly board meetings
• Lead monthly board meetings in Chair absence
• Perform Chair duties as needed 
• Help with special projects as needed.
• Monthly time commitment 1-2 hours

Intergroup Treasurer

• Manage intergroup checking account
• Generate monthly financial report to the board reporting on activity
• Collect and deposit donations from members, grants and others
• Attend monthly intergroup meetings
• Monthly time commitment 2-3 hours

Member at Large (new  position)

• Attend monthly intergroup meetings
• Participate in intergroup decisions 
• Assist with intergroup projects
• Monthly time commitment 1-2 hours
